Italian Translator (Games)

Position: Italian Translator

Terms: Contract, Full time 

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Salary: €DOE

Reporting to: Head of Studio

 

Description of job:

We are looking for an experienced Italian Translator to join our team as we launch an exciting new online game in Italy and across Europe. You will be working in Dublin with a close-knit team and responsible for translation and of the new game and all associated marketing material. The role is initially on a contract basis with a view to becoming permanent for the right candidate. 

Responsibilities:

Translate game content and recommend improvements.
Translation of marketing material.
Translation of the Game Guide and FAQ sections.
Update social media forums where necessary. 
Work with the Head of Studio to ensure accurate planning of tasks.
Testing new content for the regular game builds and reporting on bugs as necessary.
Providing game feedback to the project management team.
Forwarding bugs to the bug database and liaison with the development team as necessary.
Ensuring that communication within the team runs smoothly.
Any special projects as requested by management.

Experience:

The successful candidate will need the following demonstrable experience:
Translation/Localisation of games and marketing material.
Strong knowledge of or experience in the games industry.
Familiarity with social and casual gaming and social networking.

Description of job:

Matrix Communications AG (www.matrix ag.com) is a Munich-based translation, localisation and internationalisation service and solution provider. We have branches in Milan (Italy) and Tilburg (Netherlands) and have a global network of partners.

Responsibilities:

Produce high-quality translations from German into English or German into Spanish or English into German in various subject areas; if applicable, from additional working languages
Perform quality assurance, edit and evaluate translations by freelance employees
Assist project managers, freelance translators and clients with linguistic issues
Evaluate applications and test translations
Use translation tools
Carry out terminology-related tasks
Collaborate in and revise translation processes

Qualifications:

You are a native speaker of English, Spanish or German and have excellent knowledge of German or English, respectively
Proficiency in any other language would be advantageous
You have a university degree in translation or a related subject
You have translation experience in at least one of these fields: business/finance, automotive/engineering or IT/Telecom
You enjoy working in a team, grasp concepts quickly, are flexible and resourceful, and work pragmatically and systematically
Ability to use Office programs required
