Description of job:

The client is a global leader in network infrastructure technologies. This position will be responsible for becoming the localization SME as a member of our internal client virtual teams and become embedded within their organizations to plan and guide successful localization projects. Will own the Group communications plan, actual communications, and successful delivery of localized projects. Will work closely with LSP Program Manager and the rest of the vendor’s team. Localization process knowledge a strong plus, but not required. Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills. 


Responsibilities include:

 

Work with translation vendors and provide guidance in the day-to-day operation and long-term strategic requirements.

Educate Theater-wide teams (vendor and internal) on localization benefits and processes.

Create reports (financial and auditing).

Partner with other Translation teams within group.

Develop strong, long-lasting relationships with internal requestors and users of LATAM localized content. 

 

Other Requirements:

 

Creative and analytical thinking, a “can do” attitude and flexibility to accommodate to evolving business needs.

Excellent communication skills

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Experience managing projects (length: 6-12 month average), 2 years project management preferred: planning, executing, delivering results, communicating and evaluating.

Proven ability to assess business needs, prioritize accordingly and escalate appropriately.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with cross-functional teams.

Flexibility to handle directional changes with the ability to develop strategies to ensure project success.

Project Manager for Systran MT / Web 2.0 Deployment in Paris, France 
(French/English Speaker for a 6-month contract

Description of job:

Lexcelera seeks a project manager with an understanding of Web 2.0 technologies and a technical mastery of translation tools. Systran knowledge is a plus. 

This 6-month opening in Paris, France, is for a bilingual French-English project manager who will oversee the deployment of a linguistic platform within a large multinational company, a world leader in its field. The project will begin in January 2010. 

The successful candidate will join a 10-person team responsible for integrating Systran 7 into a multimedia platform with an Internet-Intranet architecture This platform will link machine translation with an internal CMS as well as with existing TMs and glossaries.

Responsibilities include:

80% of this position will involve project management and technical tasks, and 20% linguistic tasks.

 

1. Management

Auditing current needs by communicating with individuals throughout the organization 

Identifying current infrastructure and linguistic tools 

Defining a deployment plan for the integration of Systran 7 within the company, accessible to all staff 

Defining the human and technical resources necessary 

Defining the parameters for integrating Systran 7 and the multimedia platform 

Coordinating communication to and from the various departments involved 

 

2. Technical (Web 2.0): 
The project manager will work with the Web 2.0 cell to develop various interfaces. The project manager must be able to understand and organize this type of development. 

 

3. Linguistic. 
Linguistic tasks (20%) include coordinating the creation of dictionaries and bringing together all the company’s linguistic assets. 

Skills & Profile:

The project scope covers all sites of a Fortune 500 company, with both technical and functional involvement with the latest content management and linguistic tools. 
This requires a thorough knowledge of current technology (ASP, SAAS, open-source), a focus on end users who are non-specialists in new technologies, the ability to listen and the capacity to explain and communicate on projects. 

The position, given the innovative tools and the approach, requires a multi-disciplinary profile involving several skills: a project manager with an understanding of Web 2.0 technologies, and a technical mastery in translation tools (Systran knowledge is a plus).

 

Other Qualifications 

3-4 years' project management experience 

Ability to lead a project 

Good writing skills 

Familiarity with CMS solutions (Alfresco would be a plus). 

Good interpersonal skills
