Internship

Among the major strengths of the MSc in Multilingual Computing and Localisation (Distance Learning) are the strong links between the University and industry. Thanks to its association with the Localisation Research Centre (LRC), the MSc in Multilingual Computing and Localisation (Distance Learning) has been fortunate to develop strategic partnerships with key players in the localisation industry, government and intergovernmental organizations, and the non-profit sector.

These links provide successful students from the MSc in Multilingual Computing and Localisation (Distance Learning) with the opportunity to undertake internships in some of the leading companies and organisations in localisation. During their course of study, all students are offered the opportunity to take on hands-on projects with The Rosetta Foundation, launched by the President of the University of Limerick in 2009 to provide free localisation and translation services to the non-profit sector. The Rosetta Foundation works with more than 1,000 translators and localisers in 20 countries to provide access to knowledge and information across languages.

Internships such as these are often the first step on the path to a successful career in the localisation industry and provide an opportunity to demonstrate your ability to deliver high quality localisation work in a highly diverse, distributed, multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment.

(Note: Internship opportunities are dependent on student performance throughout the year and market conditions at the time of application.)
