LRC Best Global Website Award

The Localisation Research Centre (LRC) at the University of Limerick presents an annual award for the most innovative website in relation to multilingual and multicultural issues.  This award, sponsored by EURO RSCG 4D, invites individuals who have designed and/or are operating a multi-lingual website to submit their work for consideration. Websites will be judged on a variety of different criteria by a panel of academic and industry experts.

The intertwining of the traditional localisation industry and new media publishing has led to the development of a wide range of new activities. This award was launched In recognition of both the innovative work being done to make websites globally competitive but locally relevant, and the importance of this still emerging digital market.

Mario De Bortoli, Localisation Specialist based in the London, UK office of Euro RSCG 4D, said: "Once again, Euro RSCG 4D is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the LRC Best Global Website Award. Over its past editions the Award has exceeded all our expectations: the quality of the websites presented is staggering and the interest generated enormous. As a world leader in new media, cross-cultural communication is core to our business and so we are acutely aware of how much work and dedication goes into it. We are glad that the LRC Best Global Website Award is there to recognise those who have achieved the best results and raised the standards for the whole industry."

"The award highlights the impact of a truly globalised website by showcasing the increased effectiveness and profitability of localised websites when compared to non-localised equivalents," said LRC Director Reinhard Schäler. "The importance of this award is highlighted by the fact that the sponsor of this award is the interactive advertising agency Euro RSCG 4D, one of the largest and most awarded new media agencies in the world."
