Wordfast link to nine-million word Logos dictionary

December 7, 2001  -- The latest version of the Wordfast translation memory tool allows users to search the nine-million word Logos online dictionary in real time. Wordfast is downloadable free of charge at www.champollion.net or www.logos.it . 
All a translator using the Wordfast tool has to do, after selecting a word, is to press the Alt+M shortcut key. The search word as it appears in the Logos dictionary then appears in a web browser window together with its translation in the target language.

Wordfast can be freely downloaded from the web: A computer-aided system which speeds up the translation of long documents and enhances the consistency of the language and terminology used, can now be freely downloaded from the web. 
The system, known as Wordfast, was designed by Yves Champollion and made available universally by a joint venture between Mr Champollion and the Logos Group.

Irish Army Puts Best Foot Forward With Online Translations.com

December 1, 2001 -- OnlineTranslations.com, the web localisation department of Eurotext Translations, has just completed a full turnkey translation and web engineering project for the new-look Irish Defence Forces website. The project comes as part of the e-government initiative towards greater and more inclusive visibility on the Internet to the wider Irish population. 

According to Europemedia, Irish government websites are the best in Europe, scoring 81 points out of a possible 100 in the “Overall Performance” category. 

The entire Irish Defence site is now accessible both in English and Irish.
