BOWNE SPEEDS UP WORLDWIDE PRODUCT RELEASE

July 26, 2001 -- Bowne Global Solutions, a division of Bowne & Co, Inc.
(NYSE: BNE), has announced ExtraGLOBAL 2.0, a web-based project extranet
solution that helps companies to speed up their international product
releases. The launch follows successful, rigorous testing by key Bowne
clients such as Commerce One and Motorola.

ExtraGLOBAL 2.0 is a secure self-service project management extranet that
provides Bowne's clients and employees with a single point of access in
real-time to critical project information throughout every stage leading up
to a new product launch. The extranet gives access to underlying
applications which can be used to leverage core production knowledge to
reduce the time and cost of getting products to market.

"ExtraGLOBAL 2.0 has been an unexpected added value of working with Bowne,"
said James Downton, manager of Global Services, Motorola. "It is a great way
to keep track of a large, complex product localisation project, without
trading dozens of e-mails with dozens of people every day. The high-quality
of Bowne's GoingGLOBAL technology is a strong complement to the company's
expertise in delivering high-quality localisation solutions."
