Connect Global Solutions opens US office

Connect Global Solutions recently opened an office in the US in conjunction with Enterprise Ireland. The office is based in Palo Alto, California, where Enterprise Ireland already hosts a small number of incubation units for Irish companies, who want to establish themselves in the US market.

Connect hopes the office will serve two purposes. First, it will enable them to have closer contact with their existing customer base in the US. Second, Connect aims to increase its globalization revenues through developing new business in the United States.

AIT localizes Microsoft .NET applications

Applied Information Technologies (AIT) has released Visual Localize 4.0, its software localisation tool, for translating Microsoft .NET applications into a wide range of languages. The tool does not require source code, but uses the binary files of the applications for the translation process.

With the integrated WYSIWYG dialog transformer, the layout adaptation of menus and control elements into the desired target language is easy. The integrated Translation Version Control system ensures that just the new parts of the applications are translated for an updated version. Additional modules enable Visual Localize to translate XML-files and Microsoft databases.

PASSOLO 4.0 released

The new version of PASSOLO is now available. It boasts some major improvements, including:

bulletOptional file parser Add-In for Microsoft .NET files (Assemblies, RESX, RESOURCE and TXT). This Add-In contains a WYSIWYG menu and dialog editor and is able to localise custom properties.
bulletOptional file parser Add-In for Borland Delphi/C++ Builder files (EXE and DLL), which automatically handles MBCS and UTF-8 coded files. This Add-In contains a WYSIWYG menu and dialog editor.
bulletTwo integrated file parser Add-In's for ID based XML files and Windows 16 Bit program files (EXE and DLL). The XML Add-In can process XLIFF files.
