For OASIS Web Services TC from Moravia
4 February - Moravia,
a leading provider of localisation and testing solutions, today announced
its participation and support for the recently formed OASIS technical
committee (TC) on Web Services Standards for Translation. Milan Karasek
and Mirek Driml, Moravia's Globalisation Specialists are members of the TC
and will participate actively in the definition of the Standards. Moravia
believes strongly in working with the industry to create and improve
industry processes, helping to advance new technologies and promoting open
Standards. This OASIS TC aims to develop standards, which
will provide a common framework for both publisher and vendor, enabling
more automation of the translation and localisation process. Lingo
Systems receives Trademark and hires a New President
Lingo
Systems, a translation and localisation company located in Portland,
Oregon, was recently awarded a registered trademark for the Lingo Systems'
name and logo by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In addition the company appointed Scott J.
Ludwigsen as the company's new president. Ludwigsen, who is a CPA, has
extensive multinational experience. He most recently served as vice
president and chief financial officer for Finnforest USA, a subsidiary of
the Finnish forest products leader, Metsaliito. P.H. Brink International chosen as Documentum Partner P.H. Brink International, a provider of language services, has been selected by Documentum as a partner for translation and localisation. Using Documentum 5, Documentum's enterprise content management platform, in combination with P.H. Brink's Otto system, the partnership will provide highly efficient translation services, thereby resulting in cost savings and improved time-to-market. The process includes all types of content -- documents, Web pages, XML files and rich media -- using one common content platform and repository. Sakrament releases Sakrament TTS Engine version 2.5 Sakrament Company, a software developer of speech recognition and text-to-speech (TTS) technologies for the Russian language, released version 2.5 of its Sakrament TTS Engine, which delivers advanced natural synthesized speech output and introduces new female voices called Vika and Oksana. The new release of Sakrament TTS was designed to use advanced unit selection algorithms that enable Sakrament TTS to model not only the sound of the voice talents, but also the intonation of the speakers. With new rate and volume controls of the synthesized speech, version 2.5 offers flexibility in application development, thereby resulting in more accurate and natural-sounding TTS output. In addition, Sakrament TTS offers modified dictionaries that are used to correct and update TTS pronunciations, thus resulting in more accurate pronunciation.Version 2.5 is compliant with Microsoft's SAPI 5.0 and SAPI 5.1 standard. It runs on Windows 98, 2000, ME, NT and XP. |
