Symbio
Expands Labs in Asia
The Symbio
Group has announced the expansion of two of its labs in Asia. Symbio has doubled
the capacity of its Beijing lab and has added 50% new space to its
existing Nanking East Lab in Taipei. The expanded lab capacity was
required to meet the rapid increase of personnel in both of these
locations. Symbio's Taipei lab has increased its headcount by 30% in the
first half of this year. The additional space and personnel strengthens Symbio's ability to
meet growing client demand for technically superior, cost- effective
outsourcing services in software development, testing, and globalisation.
The expansion of these labs increases Symbio's capacity for providing
long-term dedicated development facilities and personnel for large
international companies such as IBM. The additional space in Taipei
includes two new dedicated lab areas, bringing the total to five. In
Beijing, the additional space doubles the number of dedicated lab space to
six facilities. "Multi-year contracts are driving this
expansion," said Richard Le, Symbio's President and COO. "Our
labs in China and Taiwan are rapidly expanding as companies move their
development, globalization and testing work to Asia due to the clear cost
and quality benefits."

SDL
Provides Solutions for Call Center Industry
SDL
International has added translation services and technology solutions
targeted specifically to the call center and e-support industry. The
solutions enable a call center to make its content linguistically and
culturally appropriate in target markets throughout the world.
In the translation process, the initial
support content is translated using SDL's in-country human translation
resources and SDL's translation memory and management tools. Once this is
completed and implemented, SDLWorkFlow, which is an enterprise-level,
Web-based translation workflow system, can be deployed to manage continual
updates to this content.
