Launch of Multilizer 6.0

Multilizer, Inc., the leading developer of globalisation technologies has announced a new version of its award-winning localisation solution. Increase of 50% in Tek Translation Sales

Tek Translation, a major localisation company based at the OneWorld Localization Center in Madrid, Spain, has achieved significant growth both in winning new clients and increasing business with existing clients. Building on the success of last year, Tek Translation, has already seen a big boost in sales at the end of the third quarter of the current financial year. New clients added over the past few months include Siemens, Datex-Ohmeda Instrumentarium Corp. (part of GE Medical Systems), along with a growing list of leading companies in the Healthcare, Software and Telecommunication industries.

In addition to winning business from these new clients, Tek is particularly pleased to have been awarded extra business from existing clients. For instance, i-STAT has nearly doubled their business with Tek over the last year. Axis Communications has nearly trebled theirs! Even relatively new clients are showing their satisfaction with the Tek way of working. Siemens, a client of less than a year, has increased its projected business with Tek by over 100% .

To handle this new business, Tek has increased their staff in Madrid and around the world and is currently recruiting new specialists to maintain its growth and standards. 

Moravia Worldwide launches QASight

Moravia, a globalisation solutions provider, has launched its testing and engineering group as a separate business unit, under the name of QASight. The QASight business unit delivers comprehensive software quality assurance, testing and engineering services through its production teams centralised in the Czech Republic and the People's Republic of China.

Moravia has extended its QA expertise to encompass a number of generic IT testing services, such as automation testing, compatibility/interoperability testing, wireless and security testing, enterprise testing and blackbox testing.

Personal Translator 2004 released

Linguatec Linguatec has announced the release of Personal Translator 2004. The latest version uses a complex semantic system for language representation, allowing more than 80,000 ambiguities to be resolved. The software also introduces many new features.

It can now be integrated in Microsoft Office programs, allowing Word documents, spreadsheets and presentations to be translated on the spot. Helpful for professional translators, a TMX converter allows data to be exchanged between the sentence archive and the existing translation memories such as TRADOS.

B2B Expo in Montreal

CSN Events, a division of the ClientSide News, will hold the Localization & Globalization Back to Business conference in Montreal, Quebec, April 28-30, 2004. There will be three concurrent tracks providing content for both seasoned veterans and those new to localization, with workshops, presentations, roundtables and panel discussions.

Google rolls out Chinese Web ad service

Web search provider Google, Inc., has rolled out new on-line advertising services and payment options for the fast-growing Chinese-language market. Google's AdWords program now allows users to create keyword ad campaigns in both Simplified and Traditional Chinese text. The company also has begun to accept payment in Hong Kong dollars and Singapore dollars.

While Google has previously had customers running ads in Chinese, they had often been signed up via AdWords' English-language interface. Google's AdWords program now supports 16 languages in more than 180 countries.

Language Weaver offers Chinese translation module

Language Weaver, a software company developing Statistical Machine Translation Software (SMTS), has announced the commercial availability of a Simplified Chinese to English language pair module for its automated translation product. The company also announced that Franz Och, a computer scientist and researcher from the University of Southern California Information Sciences Institute. He has joined the company as a consultant and is guiding the development of the Chinese system, among other tasks. Och's earlier career included research as a computer scientist in system theory, computational linguistics and machine learning.
