Introduction of a Subscription Fee for Localisation Focus

From this month onwards, there will be a subscription fee of €20.00/$20.00 per year introduced for the LRC's quarterly magazine, Localisation Focus Note: This charge will not apply to anybody who is a member of The Institute of Localisation Professionals - TILP.

Additionally, past issues of the magazine are now only available online to magazine subscribers (who can find the required username and password inside each issue of the magazine). Find out why...

LRC Staff travel around Europe giving free courses

As part of the EU-funded ELECT project, members of the LRC are running a series of free 2-day foundation courses in eContent Internationalisation and Localisation during this month. The courses will be held in four European cities - Munich, Madrid, Prague and Athens. A limited number of places are still available, so register today...

Presentations and Photographs from the 3rd LRC International Summer School

The 3rd Annual LRC International Summer School took place in the University of Limerick, Ireland from June 3-6, 2003. Speakers' presentations and photographs from the summer school are now available.

7th Annual LRC Best Thesis Award sponsored by Symantec Ireland

The LRC announces the seventh annual award for the best thesis on a localisation-related topic, again generously sponsored by Symantec Ireland Ltd. Students who have completed a thesis on a relevant theme within the past two years are invited to submit their work to the LRC for consideration. The award offers a grand prize of €1,200 plus a copy of Norton Internet Security 2003. For more information, click here.

1st ELECT LRC European Localisation Scholar Award

As part of the ELECT project, the LRC are launching another annual award, namely the ELECT LRC European Localisation Scholar Award. This industry sponsored scholarship, sponsored by IBM, is open to postgraduate researchers at European third-level institutions. The scholarship is given based on the submission of competitive proposals. Click here for further details.

1st ELECT LRC Best Global Website Award

The final ELECT LRC annual award, for the Best Global web site, is sponsored by Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper Interaction. This is an award for Europe’s most innovative web site, in respect of multilingual and multicultural issues. Further details available here.
