Important
Dates for your Diary in 2005
The
5th Annual LRC Summer School will be held at the University of
Limerick, Ireland from June 13-16 2005. During
the
first 3 days of the course, June 13-15, the LRC will offer an intensive
introductory course designed to instruct attendees on both the theory
and practice of Software Localisation.
The fourth day of the summer school, June 16, will be dedicated
to a series of professional workshops organised by The Institute of
Localisation Professionals (TILP) and focusing on the most important
developments in localisation today.
The
10th Annual International Localisation Conference and Industry
Exhibition organised by the LRC will take place on the 13th
and 14th of September 2004 at the University of Limerick in
Ireland. LRC - X will be entitled the Global Initiative for Local
Computing (GILC).

launched the first online Localisation Shop at www.localisationshop.com.
It allows you to buy books and downloadable documents, register for
localisation events, subscribe to magazines and purchase memberships. The
Localisation Shop is run by experts in the field of localisation.

and the LRC to establish a localisation lab
Sun Microsystems
Ireland and the LRC are to establish a Sun Localisation Laboratory at the
LRC.
The facility will be used for research, teaching and doing localisation

The 9th Annual LRC Conference
took place at the Univeristy of Limerick, Ireland, 21-22 September
2004. The title of the conference was: Open Source Localisation.

of the International Journal for Localisation (IJL)
The LRC is pleased
to announce the launch of the first International
Journal of Localisation
- a new, annual, peer-reviewed journal. The
journal provides a forum for discussion and dissemination of research
comprising any and all of the many facets that comprise localisation,
which is defined in the broadest sense.
