Unicode
The LRC
were represented by LRC Director Reinhard Schäler and researcher Kevin Bargary at the 27th Internationalization and Unicode Conference from the 6th – 8th of April. Reinhard and Kevin
gave a presentation on XLIFF in Motion – the implementation of an open source solution for the processing and editing of XLIFF files in a localisation environment.
Kevin Bargary joined the LRC in July 2004, having graduated from the University of Limerick with a B.Sc. in Computer Systems. He is currently pursuing a M.Sc. in the area of open source localisation also at the University of Limerick.
IGNITE
(Linguistic Infrastructure for Localisation; Language Data, Tools and Standards)
The LRC is happy to announce that the IGNITE contract was signed on the 28th of April, and the project kick-off meeting took place on the 25th of May. Work on phase one of the project began almost immediately after this.

The LRC is happy to announce the signing of the Europe Asia Localisation Technology Training Initiative contract. This project will start in the coming months
