LRC at Unicode

The LRC were represented by LRC Director Reinhard Schäler and researcher Kevin Bargary at the 27th Internationalization and Unicode Conference from the 6th – 8th of April. Reinhard and Kevin gave a presentation on XLIFF in Motion – the implementation of an open source solution for the processing and editing of XLIFF files in a localisation environment. 

Kevin Bargary joined the LRC in July 2004, having graduated from the University of Limerick with a B.Sc. in Computer Systems. He is currently pursuing a M.Sc. in the area of open source localisation also at the University of Limerick.

IGNITE 
(Linguistic Infrastructure for Localisation; Language Data, Tools and Standards)

The LRC is happy to announce that the IGNITE contract was signed on the 28th of April, and the project kick-off meeting took place on the 25th of May. Work on phase one of the project began almost immediately after this. 

TechLink (Europe-Asia IT&C)

The LRC is happy to announce the signing of the Europe Asia Localisation Technology Training Initiative contract. This project will start in the coming months
