LRC
Staff Departures
Rafael Guzman has left the LRC to join a well-known digital publisher in Dublin. Rafael has been with the LRC for almost 6 years. He was one of the first students to graduate from the Graduate Diploma in Software Localisation in 1999 and he contributed greatly to the development of the LRC and some of its projects (WebIT and ELECT in particular), and even found time and energy to do an LRC-supported MSc, which he successfully completed this year. I am sure that you will join us in wishing him the best of luck with his new job.
Summer School
The 5th LRC Internationalisation and Localisation Summer School will take place from the 13th to the 16th of June at the University of Limerick in Ireland. This year’s event will see attendees receiving a thorough grounding in localisation theory, participating in the localisation of a custom designed application and also getting the opportunity to ask professional experts from the Institute of Localisation professionals (TILP) their opinions on the practical realities of working in the localisation industry.
