Certified Localisation Professional picks up steam

The TILP Certified Localisation Professional programme, which originated as part of the ADAPT European Union project in the LRC, has announced a number of new CLP accredited training organisations.

Alchemy Software Development, Austin Community College, PASS Engineering, STAR Servicios Lingüistícos, Universidad Europea de Madrid and USHUAIA Solutions have joined Global Answers, the University of Limerick and the Localisation Research Centre as accredited training organisations.

2nd IGNITE contact group meeting takes place in Dublin

The 2nd contact group meeting for the IGNITE project took place in Dublin on 17th of May and was a runaway success. Interested parties from major players in the localisation industry attended this meeting and provided valuable input on project work to date. For more information visit www.igniteweb.org.  

New manager for Localisation Research Centre

Karl Kelly has been appointed manager of the Localisation Research Centre and will take over the day-to-day running of the LRC and it's projects. Karl joined the LRC in March 2003 and has worked successfully in a number of roles within the LRC since then.

Keynote speaker for LRC XI announced

Richard Ishida of the W3C has been announced as the keynote speakers at this year's LRC XI conference. The conference will take place at the European Foundation conference centre in Dublin, Ireland on the 25th and 26th of October 2006. For more information on this event click here.
