LRC XIII, the 13th Internationalisation and
Localisation Conference organised by the Localisation Research Centre,
will take place on 02-03 October 2008 at the Marino
Institute of Education in Drumcondra, Dublin, Ireland with a
pre-conference day taking place in Dublin on 01 October. The theme for
this year's conference will be Localisation4All, and the conference will
focus on the provision of quality localisation services for people
world-wide.
The first day of the conference will feature two
parallel streams. The first stream will look at the European Funded
TechLink project while the second stream will provide a one-day
introduction to localisation hosted by academic and industrial experts.
The second day of the conference will explore the idea
of "Localisation4All". The concept that good quality
localisation should be made available to people world wide as a necessity
for their inclusion in the multilingual digital world. This day will
feature presentations, talks and discussions on the initiatives and ideas
that are aimed at facilitating and improving localisation and localisation
processes for people regardless of their location or financial situation.
