Digital Content Development: Creating a Framework of Guidelines to Facilitate the Development of Usable, Readable and Translatable Online User Assistance for Global Audiences*

This research aims to investigate what impact the application of content development guidelines has on the process of developing usable, readable and translatable digital content for international audiences. The secondary objective of the research is to examine how the production of higher quality source language content (via pre-translation testing) impacts on the overall costs of localisation projects.

 

Localisation Knowledge –Organisation, Capture and Use*

This research deals with identifying, classifying and using localisation knowledge. It is envisaged that the results of the research will help improve the localisation process: aiding the work of translators and localisers, minimizing possible errors and improving the quality of the final products. 

 

Workflow Recommendation and Representation in Localisation 
Researcher: Aram Morera Mesa
Programme of Study: Doctor of Philosophy
Status: On-going 

The object of this research is to develop the blueprint for a system that would be able to analyse the features of a localisation project and produce a suitable workflow and adapt this workflow if the project changes during the workflow enactment.
