Angela Starkmann-Lehr
Angela Starkmann-Lehr is a freelance translator, trainer and copy-writer. She used to work as project manager for mt-g medical translation and as inhouse linguist at Medtronic Technical Literature Group. Angela has a background in comparative literature. She is a member of the council of the TILP (The Institute of Localisation Professionals) and is currently involved in the planning team for the CLP (certified localisation professional) training programme which will start in 2008.

Inger Larsen
Inger Larsen is the founder of Larsen Globalisation recruitment, which has provided recruitment services to the localisation industry worldwide since 2000, with offices in London, Dublin, Paris, Stockholm and Boston. Before this, Inger worked internationally in localisation for 15 years on both the production and sales side, for IBM, Microsoft and Xerox. She also taught software localisation part-time at Surrey University for two years. She is currently studying for a degree in Human Resource Management in her spare time, with particular emphasis on selection methods and international HRM. Inger is a member of TILP and an advisor to the CLP programme.

Ińaki Hernández-Lasa
Ińaki Hernández-Lasa heads the Linguistic Engineering Department at Tek Translation International. With 12 years in the field, he is a recognized expert in myriad specialties including Linguistic Engineering, Enterprise Terminology Management, Localisation Web Services and Portals, and L10N practices and workflows. He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Languages from Dublin City University.

Nora Aranberri
Nora Aranberri is currently a PhD student at Dublin City University funded by the Innovation Partnerships programme (Enterprise Ireland and Symantec). She completed an MSc in Scientific, Technical and Medical Translation with Translation Technology at Imperial College London in September 2006 having obtained a BA in Translation and Interpreting from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona the year before.

Aidan
Killeen
Aidan Killeen is the Development Manager for Internationalisation for McAfee’s localisation department. His responsibilities include supporting the localisation engineering team, internal tools development and training developers how to deliver world-ready software. He was instrumental in rolling out the pseudo translation concept to these teams.
Prior to joining McAfee Aidan worked as a consultant computer programmer for a variety of companies. He has a degree in Electronic Engineering from CIT and has 15 years experience in software development.

Stefan Kreckwitz
Stefan Kreckwitz is a Senior System Engineer with across Systems. He received his Diploma in Computer Science from the University of Karlsruhe (TH) in 2003. He joined across Systems in the same year as System Architect. Today Mr. Kreckwitz is leading the development team of across Systems.

Luis R. Cerna
Luis R. Cerna is a graduated freelance translator, interpreter, technical communicator and terminology expert dealing since 1973 with a wide range of technical and scientific fields. He is accredited in his working languages (DE, ES and EN) by the German Association of Translators and Interpreters, BDUe, and in technical working by the German Gesellschaft fuer Technische Kommunikation, TEKOM. He is also a publicly appointed and sworn translator and interpreter at the Regional Court of Heidelberg.

Gráinne Maycock
Gráinne Maycock is Director of Strategic Accounts at Moravia Worldwide and was responsible for setting up Moravia’s presence in Ireland. Previously, Gráinne has held positions in SimulTrans and Berlitz in Vendor Management, Linguistic Management and Project Management. Grainne has been active in the localisation industry for 12 years.
Peter Reynolds
Peter Reynolds is Director of the LSP Advantage Program at Idiom. He previously worked for Lionbridge and comes from the Berlitz, Bowne Global Solutions tradition within that company. While at Lionbridge Peter managed the Dublin development team responsible for BerlitzIT, Elcano, Freeway 2.0 and internal project and vendor management tools. Peter is secretary of the XLIFF Technical Committee at OASIS and chair of the Translation Web Services Technical Committee.

José-Ramón Biau-Gil
José-Ramón Biau-Gil teaches English and Translation at the Rovira i Virgili University, in Tarragona (Spain), in face-to-face and in online environments. He also translates professionally for several translation and localization vendors. His research focuses on translation technologies and its training. He is currently carrying out a project to evaluate the impact of computer interfaces in the translation of technical texts.

Gihan V. Dias
Dr. Gihan Dias is a Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, University of
Moratuwa and also Advisor, Local-language Computing, ICT Agency of Sri Lanka. He
was a prime mover in the standardisation of Sinhala encoding and keyboard, and has
supervised the localisation of several open-source applications into Sinhala.
G. Balachandran
G. Balachandran is a research student at the Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, University
of Moratuwa and was the consultant to the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka in developing a
standard Tamil keyboard. He is currently engaged in compiling a Tamil IT glossary.

Felix Donoso
Felix Donoso has a degree in Computer Science Engineering from the “Universitat Autňnoma de Barcelona.” (UAB), and a Masters degree in Strategic and Innovation Management from the “Instituto Universitario de Postgrado” (IUP). From 2000 to 2003 he worked in Dublin as a Localisation Engineer for Bowne Global Solutions and Lotus IBM. In 2001 he was given a special mention in the Best Thesis Localisation Award for his final degree project. He has worked for MSS since 2004. He is also an Associate Member of TILP.

| Kieran Arthur Kieran Arthur is Senior Project Manager with Brandt Translations, with experience in localisation engineering, and project management across several companies. Since joining Brandt Translations 2002 Kieran has worked with Brandt’s key clients. He has been involved with a variety of projects, ranging from software and document localisation to multimedia localisation to consultancy. Kieran holds a PhD in applied mathematics from Dublin City University.

Frimannsson
Asgeir Frimannsson is a PhD student at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia, where he is doing research relating to translation reuse in the localisation of open source software. His previous research project was awarded the LRC Best Thesis Award in 2005.

Tim Callanan
Tim Callanan is a localisation QA Engineer for the Consumer group in McAfee Localisation, Cork, Ireland. He has worked as QA engineer on a variety of consumer localisation projects including most recently leading a QA team to localise an integrated suite of security solution products for 20 languages. Tim has also led the Localisation QA effort on McAfee Virus Scan, Security Centre and Personal Firewall products.
Prior to joining McAfee, Tim worked with Symantec Corporation as a Localisation QA Engineer in Dublin and as International Product Engineering QA Manager in Santa Monica California. He has a degree in Engineer from Trinity College Dublin and Master of Arts in Globalisation from Dublin City University.
