These two events will run together from 21-23 September 2011 in Limerick, Ireland and aim to bring together the world’s leading experts in localisation, internationalisation and Multilingual Web design and conceptualisation for a series of presentations, talks and workshops. This will give attendees the opportunity to learn about the latest advances and developments in the field of localisation, as well as provide them with the opportunity to participate and have their say in workshops that will contribute towards the future of the Multilingual Web.
16th Annual LRC Conference
Monday 19th September: Smith Yewell has had to cancel his talk at this year's conference. However, we are happy to announce that Derek Coffey of Welocalize will be replacing him in the schedule.
Vertical versus Virtual - 21st Century Localisation Strategies
When Henry Ford tried stockpiling parts and materials, he found that the inventory costs were too high. His answer was total control: owning the whole supply chain. Some leading economists believe that, as companies evolve and adapt to new trends in our industry, the time has come to revisit Ford's solution.
What does this mean for the localisation industry? Is the supply side strategy to buy in to the vertical supply chain an effective use of scale? Are client strategies to build virtual organisations the correct way to service the needs of their global audience?
21st century localisation is emerging as an infrastructure for massive cloud-based collaboration. It is driven by excellence, autonomy, and purpose and it is supported by innovative, scalable, and open standards-based technologies.
Join the innovators and movers of the 21st century localisation strategies at the 16th Annual LRC Internationalisation and Localisation conference to discuss how your organization can become a leader in next generation localisation.
Multilingual Web Workshop 3
The MultilingualWeb project is looking at best practices and standards related to all aspects of creating, localising and deploying the Web multilingually. The project aims to raise the visibility of existing best practices and standards and identify gaps.
This workshop will bring together speakers and participants with an interest in best practices and standards aimed at helping content creators, localizers, tools developers, and others meet the challenges of the multilingual Web. It provides further opportunities for networking across communities that span the various aspects involved.
