Introduction to Localisation Test Automation

Outline

This is a two day hands-on course that focuses on Segue’s SilkTest automated testing tool with Quality Automation’s Localisation Methodology to successfully test a localised windows application.

Following Quality Automation’s localisation testing methodology, the course content includes,
bulletUnderstanding the benefits of test automation;
bulletAutomated testing fundamentals;
bulletUnderstanding the components – SilkTest;
bulletCreating the test frame;
bulletGenerating the test plan and testcases;
bulletLocalising the test frame;

The products utilised include Segue’s SilkTest and QA Organiser.

Objectives

Following successful completion of the course, attendees will,
bulletunderstand the benefits of using test automation;
bulletgain proficiency in the use of SilkTest;
bullethave hands-on experience of creating reusable language independent automated tests;
bulletgain an insight into managing test automation for a localisation project;

Audience

This course is intended for beginner and immediate users of Silk Test. Testing experience with GUI or web applications is not required, but may be helpful.

The course is primarily aimed at,
bulletLocalisation Managers who wish to get a deeper insight into test automation. Those who wish to understand the benefits and the implementation of test automation within the localisation process.
bulletLocalisation Test Engineers who wish to further their existing skills to incorporate test automation tools. The course provides a good introduction to Segue’s SilkTest functional testing tool and highlights best practices within the localisation process.
bulletAutomation Engineers who wish to deepen their knowledge of testing within the localisation industry. The course focuses on the typical UI errors that occur during the localisation process.

Registration and Fees

Course fee: £800 (£695 for LRC subscribers). Course fees will have to be received by the LRC on or before 4 September 2000. Please register using the LRC Course registration form.

The University of Limerick provides on campus accommodation during September in Killmurry Village for professionals. Please note: the prices displayed on the web site of the University refer only to students during the academic year.
