Tuesday 01 June - Software Development
Wednesday 02 June - Internationalisation
Thursday 03 June - Translation and Localisation
Friday 04 June - QA Testing and Engineering

The LRC will hold its Fourth International Localisation Summer School and the first Pre-Summer School International Workshop for 3rd Level Localisation Educators this June.  The courses will be delivered by localisation professionals in the state-of-the-art facilities of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Limerick, home of the LRC.

Over the past years, the University of Limerick (Ireland) and Austin Community College in Texas (USA) have been two of the first academic institutions world-wide to offer an academic programme of study in localisation, backed and supported by industry leaders on both sides of the Atlantic.

This is the second time that these two third-level colleges, which are located in two continents invite you to join their International Localisation Summer School where leading instructors from the USA and Europe will deliver the courses.

Pre-Summer School Workshop for 3rd Level Educators

The International Workshop for 3rd Level Localisation Educators will take place on the 31st of May and will allow individuals, currently teaching localisation –related topics at third level educational institutions, to meet and discuss localisation as part of third level education.  Attendees will be invited to give brief presentations on their teaching experiences, and give their opinions on what they see as the most important issues involved with the teaching of localisation in third level environments.

This workshop will also provide an opportunity for localisation companies that have developed specialist teaching and training materials to showcase their materials and methods to an audience of localisation educators and gain valuable feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of their training methods.
