 | Monday
June 13 The
LRC will introduce you to the world of internationalisation and localisation. Using exercises and examples, you will experience a huge variety of internationalisation and localisation issues. You will learn to position the different roles and functions in the localisation process in a context that reaches far beyond translation.
|
 | Tuesday
June 14 A mix of lectures and practical workshops will transfer you right into the heart of a live localisation project. Guided by your tutor, you will be required to analyse a software application, prepare the localisation kit, and attempt the localisation of the application (non-English language skills will be useful here but will not be required). At the end of this stage of the Summer School, you will compile recommendations for the development team, pointing out important internationalisation issues to them.
|
 | Wednesday
June 15 You
will work in a development team confronted with a range of internationalisation issues, which you will solve in a live project. You will learn about the processes and guidelines that should be followed by teams developing applications aimed at users in different cultural and linguistic markets.
|
 | Thursday
June 16 - A day of workshops that will allow you to learn from Professional Members of The Institute of Localisation Professionals (TILP) about the latest issues in localisation
with regard to engineering, translation and management.

Who should attend
The Summer School is aimed at individuals with little or no experience in internationalisation and localisation. This Summer School will go beyond localisation tools training for translators. While experience in computer programming is not required, a strong interest in programming is.
