Excursion
The social event for the 2006
Summer School will feature a visit to the world-famous Aran
Islands, off the West Coast of Ireland. The Aran Islands are one
of the most scenic and beautiful areas of Ireland and home to both
spectacular scenery and historical ruins.
Attendees will depart the
University of Limerick on the afternoon of Wednesday 14th of June
and go by bus to Connemara airport in Co Galway. They will then
fly to Inismore, the biggest of the Aran Islands, where they will
take a tour of the historic Dun Aengus ruins before dining. Dinner
will be followed by traditional Irish music and drinks in a local
pub. Accommodation will be in Mainistir
House.
The next morning the group shall
return to the University of Limerick where classes will resume on
Thursday afternoon for the final sessions of the Summer School.
