TechLink TILP Certified Localisation Professional Course
Location:  Online and onsite in eleven locations

Participants up to 120 students

10 Topics online and 4-day intensive training course onsite.

Online content:

  • Introduction to Information Technology

  • Localisation and the Software Engineering Lifecycle

  • Software I18N Enablement and Character Handling

  • Localisation Kitting and File Preparation

  • MS Windows-based User Interface Localisation Tools

  • MS Windows- based Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) Tools

  • Introduction to Terminology, Term Bases and Terminology Resources

  • Introduction to Test Plans, Scripts/Cases, Bug Reporting and Classification

  • Introduction to Website Localisation

  • Introduction to Localisation Project Management

Onsite content

Four-day onsite intensive training courses are being offered by members of the TechLink TILP Local Partnership programme in different locations around the world. The onsite courses are structured as follows:

  • Day 1

    • Localisation Project I - Project Analysis; Project Planning; Internationalization Testing 

  • Day 2

    • Localisation Project II - Translation; Localisation Engineering and Testing; Project Closure 

  • Day 3 

    • Introduction to Regional Localisation Issues 

  • Day 4 

    • Exam Preparation 

    • Exams

Alchemy Catalyst 7.0 Translator/Pro Edition

SDL Trados 2007 SP2 Freelance Edition

SDL Passolo

Other benefits

Also included for course participants are the following benefits:

  • One year free Associate Membership of The Institute of Localisation Professionals (TILP)

  • One year free subscription to the online edition of Multilingual magazine

These course will run until the beginning of September and are being used to:

  • Pilot the online content

  • Test the delivery mechanisms

  • Check the completeness of the offer, including regional localisation requirements modules

Memorandum of Understanding, Guest Lecture
Location:  Inderprastha Engineering College , Ghaziabad

Topics/Activities Covered Meeting President of College; Director Prof Om Vikas; guest lecture to staff and students; solemn signing of the Memorandum of Understanding:IPEC will encourage faculty for pursuing PhD programme at LRC, collaborative research and development will be carried out in areas like Multilingual Digital Content Development, Digital Content Translation and Adaptation Technologies, Localization Tools, Integrating Interoperable Translation Technologies etc.; UL (LRC) may invite students for the summer internship/summer school as part of the TechLink initiative; both the parties may run joint graduate diploma in Localization Technology and Global Computing and the TechLink CLP Programme
