Languages: A native speaker of a Western European Language or Asian Language would be preferable.
Reporting To: Localisation Engineering Manager
Salary: £18,000-£21,000 + bonus
Analyse and prepare diverse file formats for translation into foreign languages using CAT Tools (training will be given)
Handle technical processing of translated files for creation of deliverables, including quality checks
Assess desktop publishing requirements of individual projects and provide support from quoting stage to final delivery to Project Manager, ensuring fast-turnaround and costing accuracy
Completion of weekly status reports for clients
Research and develop ways to automate processes
Degree in Computer-related qualification
Basic awareness of HTML/XML and other script languages such as PHP, etc.
Working knowledge of Regular Expressions/Xpath queries and a basic understanding of programming languages such as C#, VB, etc. would be desirable
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
Knowledge of character encoding for foreign languages

The jobholder will possess well developed organisational and planning skills to ensure that objectives set are achieved within the timeframes agreed and identified with clients. These skills will also be evident in the management of other non-project related work, i.e. general housekeeping, time management and recording, appropriate use of systems and processes.
Judgement and Decisions
The jobholder is free to organise and manage personal effectiveness with minimal supervision. He or she is required to use own judgements and decisions on all aspects of work, keeping the Localisation Engineering Manager informed. The jobholder must be able to analyse a range of information and make judgements based upon previous knowledge and experience of data available.
